The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up

I was very surprised when I first heard the single 'Make Me Wanna Die' from this album on Scuzz. With the recent success of Hayley Williams fronted 'Paramore' and now the debut of 'The Pretty Reckless' we be seeing a new era of female fronted bands. Taylor Momsen brings the kind of attitude towards music that is every middle class parent's nightmare - a tear-away, you can't tell me what the hell to do attitude. That my friends is AWESOME and a definite positive fist to the face of Justin Bieber lovers everywhere.

While you couldn't compare Taylor to Marilyn Manson, she certainly brings to the table the kind of attitude that has long been vacant in music over the past few years. Stale and boring are two words that I'd regularly use to describe most bands that are in their prime nowadays but The Pretty Reckless have a taste that is now very rare. With sharp vocals, catchy riffs and a headline catching front-girl The Pretty Reckless do have what it takes to be a lot more than a one hit wonder. Miss Nothing is my favourite track on the and catches the attitude and aura of the band perfectly.
